Paddles

Paddles

The blade is the easiest impact piece to control. It has a large surface, a short path and a sound that is part of the experience. Compared to a whip, it is much more forgiving of miscalculations, which is why almost everyone starts.

Bondage & Fetish | Whips & Floggers | Ticklers and Pinwheels | Handcuffs & Restraints

How the sensation changes depending on the piece

Piece Surface Effect
Leather upper Wide and flexible Dull impact
Wooden shovel Rigid Stronger
Embossed shovel Textured Mark drawing
Silicone shovel Flexible Moderate stinging
Whip Small tab Precise and sharp
Padded upper Double sided Soft on one side

Paddles and riding crops are not interchangeable

The paddle distributes the impact over the entire surface and works well on the buttocks and thighs. It is operated with the forearm, without long travel, and the sound tends to exaggerate the real intensity.

The whip concentrates the force on a small tongue, so it requires much more precision. It is used for quick and localized touches, and not for large areas. If you are going to try both, start with the shovel.

Zones and progression

Buttocks and upper thighs are the reference areas. Kidneys, spine, neck, head and joints are avoided without exception.

Warm up with your hand before using the paddle: prepared skin tolerates it better and the sensation improves. Increase the intensity in small steps, checking how the other person responds in each one.

Agree before and review later

Permitted zones, maximum intensity and safe word are agreed upon before starting, not on the fly. With a blindfold involved, it is advisable to add a non-verbal signal.

When finished, check the skin and apply cream if there is marked redness. Superficial marks usually disappear within hours; If something persists or hurts the next day, it is advisable to lower the intensity the next time.

Material care

The leather is cleaned with a damp cloth and nourished with a specific product, without submerging. Silicone and PU accept warm water and neutral soap or Toy Cleaners & Essentials product. The wood can only be wiped with a dry cloth. Exclusive sale for people over 18 years of age.

How to choose the first piece

A wide flexible leather or silicone paddle is the most reasonable option to start with. The large surface distributes the force, the sound is louder than the impact and the margin of error is large, which is exactly what is needed when there is still no practice.

The riding crop is the opposite: it concentrates all the energy on a small tab and requires aim and control. It is an excellent piece and a bad first purchase.

Between the two are the soft strip floggers, which can be used in drag as well as in stroke and allow alternating records within the same session.

Where to hit and where not

Safe areas are the buttocks and the upper and outer part of the thighs, where there is enough muscle and fat. The lower back and kidneys, spine, neck, joints, inner thigh and any point where the bone is close to the surface are avoided.

The progression is always from less to more, starting with soft blows to warm up the area, which also makes the following ones much better tolerated. A well-warmed session allows intensities that would be painful when cold.

And as in any practice of this type, an agreed word to stop and a skin check at the end.

Weight, length and balance

A heavy piece requires less arm strength because the weight itself does the work, and that gives a more constant impact. A light one is better controlled but requires a faster gesture, which is where precision is lost.

The length of the handle determines the reach and also the power: the longer it is, the more speed the tip reaches and the less margin there is to correct mid-gesture. To start, short handle and wide surface.

Material care and storage

The leather is cleaned with a slightly damp cloth and treated from time to time with a specific conditioner to prevent it from drying out or cracking. Silicone accepts warm water and neutral soap without problem, and is the most practical option when the piece is shared.

Everything is stored hanging and dry, never folded or compressed under other things, because the fold marks on the leather are not recovered.

Shovel. It spreads the impact over more surface area and is much more forgiving of miscalculations.

Buttocks and upper thighs. Never kidneys, spine, neck, head or joints.

Does the sound indicate intensity?

No. A wide blade makes a lot of noise even if the impact is moderate. Be guided by the other person's response.

Does it leave marks?

It may leave superficial redness that disappears within hours. If it persists the next day, lower the intensity.

How do you clean a leather upper?

With a damp cloth and nutritious product. It is never immersed or put in a washing machine.
