The compatibility rule

The water-based lubricant is the only one that works with all materials and with a latex condom. If you have to choose only one boat, let it be that one.

Silicone lasts longer and resists water, but can degrade the surface of a silicone toy with repeated use. And oils, including massage oils, should not be combined with latex because they compromise the barrier.

How to read a label

Look at the declared base, whether it contains glycerin and the indicated pH. Formulas without glycerin and with a pH close to the vaginal one, around 4, are the most recommended for frequent use.

Products with a hot, cold or tingling effect contain active ingredients that are not well tolerated by everyone. If you've never used them, test a small amount on your forearm first.

How to read a label

In the list of ingredients, what you should look for is the presence of glycerin, parabens and perfume, which are the three usual causes of reactions. A short formula, without any of the three, is the most predictable option for sensitive skin.
