Crotchless Sets

Crotchless Sets

An open set solves something that a single piece cannot: coherence. Bra, panties and, depending on the model, garter belt or stockings share fabric, lace and tone, so the result looks thoughtful rather than improvised.

The opening and its finish

The opening can be simply without a central seam or finished with lace or elastic trim. The finish matters because a raw edge will fray in just a few washes.

Also check if the opening is flat when worn. In very elastic fabrics without trim it tends to open more than expected, and that changes the visual result quite a bit.

The size is decided on the bra

In a set, the piece that fails the most is the top one. If the bra has a cup with underwire, follow the brand's table; If it has a soft or triangular crown, there is more margin.

Many sets are sold in a stretchy one-size-fits-all, which works well in the mid-range but not at the extremes. If you're outside that range, look for true-to-size versions with adjustable straps.

Fabrics and comfort

Stretch lace is the most comfortable and fits best. The mesh holds well but is more noticeable, and the satin falls beautifully although it does not give, so it requires getting the size right.

Check the straps: the wide and adjustable ones hold better and do not mark the shoulder, something that is appreciated in large sizes or in large cups.

Care of the set

Hand wash with cold water and mild soap, or in a mesh bag on a delicate cycle, without fabric softener or dryer. Fasten the hooks before washing so they don't snag the lace, and dry flat. Exclusive sale for people over 18 years of age.

Discreet shipping from Lace & Luna

Orders arrive in plain, unbranded packaging, with no reference to the contents on the outside, and the bank charge is just as discreet. Details are at embalaje discreto. We are a family store and in lingerie we prefer to explain the sizing before the catalog.

What to look for in the finish

Overall, quality is seen in three specific points. The first is the lace: sewn to the piece and not glued, because the glue comes off with the first wash. The second are the straps, with metal adjustment instead of plastic, which is what breaks. The third is the finishing of the opening, with fine elastic or sewn lace, never an open cut.

To these three, a fourth is added in models with a shaft: one that is lined and ends in a rounded tip. A rod that sticks out with use ruins the garment and cannot be fixed.

How to choose the size of the set

The reference is the bra, because it is the piece with the least margin. You measure the underbust circumference for the band and the chest circumference for the cup, and that combination decides the size of the entire outfit. If the pair of panties is small, many models allow you to order them separately.

When the set includes a garter belt, it is worth checking if the garters are adjustable in all four positions. It is what allows the height to be adapted to the leg, and without that the stockings pull or fall, which is the most common fault of these outfits.

What does the garter belt add?

An outfit with a garter belt changes the proportion of the silhouette because the vertical strips elongate the leg, and no other piece achieves this effect. In return, it requires a little patience when putting it on: the band goes over the natural waist, above the panties and not below, so that it can be removed without removing the rest.

The stockings are held with the four bands adjusted at the same height, two in front and two in the back. If there are only two, they are placed slightly towards the outside of the thigh, which is where they pull the least when walking.

When you notice that the outfit is comfortable

A well-resolved open garment is forgotten after ten minutes. If, on the other hand, you can see the edge of the opening when you sit down or cross your legs, it is almost always because the trim is made of rigid lace instead of fine elastic, or because the size is just right and the fabric pulls from the hips towards the center.

The second indicator is the bra band. When the band is horizontal on the back and does not rise towards the shoulder blades, the weight is well distributed and the set lasts the entire night without repositioning. When it goes up, the band size is large even though the cup seems correct, and that error is paid for in discomfort rather than appearance.
